Very popular and widely adapted dark red beet. Developed from the popular variety Early Blood Turnip in 1892. Dark green foliage has some red coloration. Use fresh or canned. Resistant to Downy Mildew. Excellent flavor. Seed size varies considerably, packet (5g) averages 380 seeds, sows approximately 30 feet. 60 days. Beta vulgaris. Family: Amaranthaceae (beetroot).
