Course Overview:
In this single session, you’ll use handbuilding techniques to craft a large, personalized fruit or salad bowl. The focus will be on texture, form, and adding unique details, while also learning the fundamentals of working with slabs of clay.
• Creating the Bowl:
You’ll begin by rolling out slabs of clay and using a variety of texture tools to add decorative elements to your piece. Then, you’ll drape the clay over a bisque mold to create the bowl’s shape and add a raised foot to give the bowl an elegant, elevated look.
• Finishing with Glaze:
After the bowl has been bisque fired, we at the studio will use your selection from our range of beautiful studio glazes, including spearmint, slate blue, midnight blue, charcoal black, buttermilk white, pansy purple, or clear. You’ll choose your favorite glaze to bring your piece to life, enhancing the texture and design you’ve created.
Course Details:
• This is a single-session class, with all materials, tools, and firings included in the course fee.
• Your bowl will be fired, glazed, and ready for pick-up within 3-4 weeks after the class session. We’ll notify you when your piece is ready to collect.
• Please come prepared with a hand towel for your use and whatever beverage you want. Wear comfortable, older clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and non-slip shoes for safety.
