Course Overview:
This hands-on class focuses on creating unique pottery pieces that bring beauty and function to your everyday life. From garden planters to wall hangings, each project combines creativity, texture, and practical design.
•    Week 1: Introduction to the Studio & Starter Projects
Get to know the space and the materials as you create your first pieces! You’ll craft a "flower frog" for use in wide-mouth mason jars, ideal for arranging fresh flowers, and a textured bowl using ceramic hump molds. These projects will help you get comfortable with texture-making and shaping clay.
•    Week 2: Textured Hanging Wall Pockets
Learn how to create functional, decorative pieces for your home or garden by making hanging wall pockets. Using clay slabs and various textures, you’ll create a beautiful pocket perfect for holding plants, mail, or small treasures. These charming pieces will add a handmade touch to any room.
•    Week 3: Garden Planters
Dive into larger projects with garden planters, where you’ll create both a round ruffle planter and a square planter with raised feet. These pieces are perfect for showcasing your favorite plants or adding a rustic touch to your outdoor space. You’ll refine your skills with shaping, adding texture, and adding thoughtful design details.
•    Week 4: Glazing & Finishing Touches
The final week focuses on glazing and bringing your pieces to life! You’ll learn how to apply a variety of underglazes and studio overglazes to your creations. This session will give you the chance to add color and depth to your pieces, making them truly unique.

Course Details:
•    All materials and firings are included. Students can make multiples of projects as time permits. Your completed pieces will be ready for pick-up about two weeks from the final class, and we'll notify you when they're ready.

•    While basic tools will be available in the studio, we recommend bringing a few essential tools (see the list below). However, if you’re new to ceramics, we suggest waiting until the first class to decide what tools work best for you. We will provide suggestions and the best places to purchase.

•    Clay cutting knife or craft knife
•    Wood modeling tools
•    Smoothing sponge (grout sponge)
