A local favorite in Cajun country since the 1950s, and introduced in 1989 by Southern Exposure Seed Exchange. Dwarf-type plant 2½-4 feet tall spineless plants produce an early crop of tender 1 inch diameter pods up to 8 inches long. Good flavor. Widely adapted. Packet (4 g) approximately 64-86 seeds sows 31-52 feet. 53 days. Abelmoschus esculentu. Family: Malvaceae.
